Frida Kahlo battled throughout her life – a political activist and one of Mexico’s best known painters.
The many rows caused by the infidelities of her artist husband Diego Rivera never resulted in their separation for long. The film won two Oscars and depicts an intensely colourful chaotic life lived to the full.

Two drag queens and a transsexual head west from Sydney to a gig in Alice Springs, aboard their lavender bus, Priscilla. A wonderfully funny film with a great sense of comic timing, brilliant costumes and wigs, this is not to be missed.

The film speculates that the girl in this famous painting was a servant, Grit, in the household of the Dutch artist Vermeer, and the painting was commissioned by a rich merchant. The tensions between artist, model and patron are brilliantly portrayed amid subdued lighting and subtle colours.
